(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Our friends at B96 are asking for donations for families in need this holiday season.
B96's Moug and Karla are hoping to make the holiday season a little brighter for families in Chicago.
"We're trying to raise 5,000 toys for families here in Chicagoland, and we have partnered with the amazing people at ChiGivesBack."
ChiGivesBack is a non-profit that serves low-income communities. Moug says with their help, B96 is hoping to make it easier for families to access and afford gifts.
"You're also taking something that could be a bit of a burden off of parents who, you know are stressed about paying the electric bill and the gas bill, and sometimes Christmas presents end up on the back burner."
Earlier this week, Karla said they've gathered over 3,000 toys.
"It feels really good to do something good, but it feels even better to know that the community who supports us all year long is going to get something back at the end of the year, too."
