Prom season should be unforgettable, but for the right reasons. Kayla Palmore with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM.

Prom goers and their parents should be alerted, scammers are targeting prom with fake or bad deals on dresses, tuxedos, limos, and even after-parties.

Prom creates a perfect storm; high demand and emotional spending can cause people to let their guard down.

Online purchase scams are still the number one reported scam, with younger consumers especially targeted on social media.
