Open enrollment is open season for Medicare scams. Kayla Palmore with the Better Business Bureau’s Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.

Medicare fraudsters are stepping up their game, and artificial intelligence is making their schemes harder to spot.

Medicare open enrollment season has just begun and runs through December 7th.

Fraudsters may impersonate Medicare or real agents and promise better benefits, free gifts, or screenings, and even threaten to cancel your current coverage.

These are all tactics designed to steal your personal information. Never give your Medicare number or Social Security number to someone who contacts you unexpectedly.

Remember, Medicare won’t call you out of the blue or send someone to your door. When in doubt, hang up and contact the agency directly.
