Halloween season kicks off holiday pop-up stores, but be careful. Your purchase could be more trick than treat. Jay Elliott with the Better Business Bureau's Tip-Off to the Rip-Off® on WBBM Newsradio has the details.
Consumers are expected to spend more than $10 billion on Halloween this year. It's one of the biggest shopping seasons, with people buying costumes, candy and home decorations.
Over the years, holiday pop-up stores have become a seasonal staple, promising convenience and good deals. But remember, they may be here today and gone tomorrow.
Watch out for old costumes that tear easily, expired makeup, or fragile decorations that may have been sitting in storage for years.
Before you buy, confirm return and refund policies in writing and save your receipts. Otherwise, your Halloween bargain could turn into a real nightmare.
