If your head’s in the cloud – this scam could trick you into a costly mistake, and the Better Business Bureau’s “Tip-Off to the Rip-Off” on WBBM is going to tell you all about it.
Scammers are sending fake email or text messages that appear to come from Apple, Microsoft, or Google, claiming you’re out of storage and need to purchase more space. The message may seem real, but it’s often a trick.
If you don’t use that company for storage, delete the message and report it to BBB Scamtracker. If you do use that company, don’t click the link. Instead, go directly to the company’s website or app to check your account.
These phishing scams are designed to steal your personal information or install malware on your device.
A few seconds of caution can save you from a major headache.
