LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) – Bears quarterback Justin Fields is ready to return.

Fields has been medically cleared to play when the Bears visit the Lions on Sunday, coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday. Fields has missed the last four games due to a dislocated right thumb, which he suffered in a loss to the Vikings on Oct. 15.

“He’s progressing well, and our plan is to start him,” Eberflus said.

Fields will practice in full Wednesday. He has been a limited participant in the Bears’ last four practices.

The Bears turned to rookie Tyson Bagent as their starting quarterback without Fields. Chicago went 2-2 in that span.

Fields, 24, has completed 61.7% of his passes for 1,201 yards, 11 touchdowns and six interceptions in six games this season. He’s playing the third season of his initial rookie contract. The Bears must decide this offseason whether to tender or decline the fifth-year option on Fields’ deal.

Bagent, 23, has completed 65.7% of his passes for 859 yards, three touchdowns and six interceptions in five games.

The Bears (3-7) and Lions (7-2) kick off at noon CT on Sunday at Ford Field.
