(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Bears are keeping their sights set on a multi-billion-dollar lakefront stadium, even though Springfield's not offering any assistance so far.

It was during the final pre-season game that Bears President Kevin Warren discussed the stadium plans on Fox.

“I feel we're exactly where we should be, where we are. We're continually working hard to make progress. We're still designing. We have meetings coming up with key political leaders and key business leaders.

“And the key of it is, it's a process, it doesn't happen overnight. We want to do the right thing. Our focus now still remains the Museum Campus.”

He said he understands this is a “heavy lift” from a business and political standpoint. But he said he’s confident they’ll be able to work through the issues and come to a resolution.
