CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Someone else is delivering the mail in Wheaton on Monday since a west suburban carrier hung up his bag after four decades.
About 100 people came out Saturday to Danada West in Wheaton to say good bye to Larry Emma.
After more than 41 years on the job, he’s retiring.
He told the Daily Herald he knew his last day on the route would be a special one when he saw a balloon on each mailbox.
Relatives wore T-shirts with a 1980 stamp on one side and a 2021 "Forever" stamp on the other. He called the response fantastic and said he was just doing his job.
