EVANSTON, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The family of an Evanston mother and daughter believed held captive by Hamas received a virtual visit from the United States President.

The family of Judith and Natalie Raanan have not heard from either of the women since receiving confirmation from the Israeli government that both had been taken hostage by Hamas and reported to be alive.

The family, however did hear from President Joe Biden, during a Zoom call with all families of American hostages taken from Israel in which the president reassured his commitment to rescuing the hostages.
