(670 The Score) Blackhawks forward Connor Bedard has been honored for his terrific rookie season.
Bedard has been named the Calder Memorial Trophy winner as the league’s top rookie, the NHL announced Thursday evening. The 19-year-old Bedard became the 10th player in Blackhawks history to win the award and the first since Artemi Panarin in the 2015-’16 season.
Bedard led all NHL rookies with 22 goals and 61 points in 68 games this past season, when he became the youngest player in league history to earn All-Star honors.
The Wild’s Brock Faber and the Devils’ Luke Hughes were the other Calder Trophy finalists.
The Blackhawks selected Bedard at No. 1 overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.
