Changes are coming to a long struggling shopping center in downtown Chicago.
Block 37 has been acquired by Orland Park-based Edwards Realty Company which specializes in revitalizing underperforming properties.
The company paid $30 million for the retail and entertainment property which occupies the city block that's bordered by State Street, Washington, Dearborn and Randolph.
Edward's wants to turn Block 37 into a defining downtown destination, and is already in talks with retailers, restaurants and experience-based operators to fill open spaces at the mall which will also be getting a new name.
