(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Joliet is playing host to Blues Brothers Con: The sequel. The convention is fittingly at the old Joliet State Prison where Dan Aykroyd's Elwood met John Belushi's Jake at the beginning of the 1980 movie classic.
Greg Peerbolte, CEO of the Joliet Area Historical Museum, tells the noon business hour that the prison is a popular site for Blues Brothers fans.
“We realize that the prison is, is really one of the few remaining sites that you can see.
you know, that really appears as it did during those years,”
The convention on Saturday will include performances from Dan Aykroyd and Jim Belushi. It's also a tribute to John Belushi's widow, Judy who died last month.
All proceeds will benefit the Juliet History Museum.
