Utility workers around 7 p.m. alerted police to a body seen in the water. Fire department personnel retrieved the body.
Officials said the body and its clothing match the description of Gray, 21, a sailor from Naval Station Great Lakes who went missing March 18.
The Lake County Coroner’s Office was notified, and an autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.
