Two people were hospitalized after a small plane crashed in a Bolingbrook park Tuesday night, according to the Bolingbrook Fire Department.
Around 6:29 p.m., the plane crashed in Indian Chase Meadows Park shortly after taking off from Bolingbrook Clow International Airport and attempting to return to the airport, according to Bolingbrook fire officials and Federal Aviation Administration flight data.
The only two occupants of the aircraft were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in stable condition. No other injuries were reported.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the incident, according to Bolingbrook officials.
The plane, a 1978-built Cessna 152, is registered to JW Aviation Chicago Flight Training School, according to FAA records. The Bolingbrook-based flight school didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
