A West Lawn man charged with the murder of a woman a week ago will remain behind bars until his next court hearing on Tuesday.
During a bond hearing on Saturday, Cook County prosecutors said Arnaldo Coronel beat the 21-year-old victim before he allegedly threw her in the middle of the street near 64th and Kilbourn Streets.
Prosecutors claimed Coronel then shot her in the head and body on June 12th at 7:30 p.m.
The Tribune reported witnesses, including a woman Coronel has children with, saw this and that it was captured on video surveillance.
During the hearing, prosecutors said Coronel, 32, drove the woman and others around earlier in the day. They alleged that an argument started when he asked if she was pretty.
It's not clear why Coronel became violent. Prosecutors said he has convictions in Illinois and Indiana.
Coronel was denied bond.
