CHICAGO CITY HALL (WBBM Newsradio) -- Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson says federal agents posing for a photo op in front of "The Bean" in Millennium Park is the latest provocation against the city by the Trump Administration.

People passing by Millennium Park saw Border Patrol commander Greg Bovino and armed, uniformed and masked officers posing in front of the "Cloud Gate" sculpture in the early-morning sunlight on Monday ... saying "Little Village" instead of "cheese" as the picture was taken.

During an appearance at City Hall Monday afternoon, the mayor described it as "ugly behavior," linking it to reports that federal agents fired pepper spray into a car carrying a one-year-old girl over the weekend.

"This President has unleashed Bovino to unleash tear gas on police officers and babies, and then they had the temerity to take a picture in front of one of our public assets," said Mayor Johnson. "We will not be lectured about public safety when you have individuals who are masked and who are pepper-spraying children and tear-gassing police officers."

The mayor also criticized some of Bovino's other actions while in Chicago, including saluting as he left federal court in Chicago two weeks ago, and making social media posts that put video of ICE operations to hip-hop music.

"That's not even a dog whistle anymore," said the mayor. "That's some real racist jacked-up stuff that he is engaged in."

But: could the photo op mean that the feds are wrapping up Operation Midway Blitz? We asked -- and a spokesperson said simply "We do not comment or telegraph future operations."
