CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A teenager has been charged in the shooting death of a 12-year-old girl in Calumet Heights Sunday night.
Chicago police said a 14-year-old boy faces involuntary manslaughter charges in a fatal shooting Sunday night.
Police said the boy was identified and arrested within two hours of the shooting inside a home on Harper and 92nd Street.
The Cook County Medical Examiner found Delilah Batey died from a gunshot wound to the face and ruled her death a homicide.
Police earlier said several people were in the home at the time.
Batey’s mother and others gathered in Auburn Gresham last night for a balloon-filled vigil for her.
