(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two brothers from the southwest suburbs are accused of running a fencing operation to sell stolen goods, federal prosecutors say.

Charges of conspiracy to receive and dispose of stolen property across state lines stem from behind-the-scenes dealings at Crestwood Electronics Inc., authorities said.

Ziad I. Zayed, 46, and 33-year-old Mosas I. Zayed, both of Frankfort, are accused of knowingly buying and reselling stolen electronics to out-of-state buyers and, in some cases, to people overseas.

An investigation found that the laptops, fitness trackers and digital cameras were stolen last year from rail cars in the Chicago area, the government said.
