(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Texas-based, fan-favorite travel center is unveiling plans for a big Wisconsin location.

Buc-ee's proposed Oak Creek site, located at the corner of I-94 and Elm Road, would be home to a 73,000 square foot store and fueling plaza, featuring 120 gas pumps and EV charging stations.

It would be around 78 miles from Chicago and 15 miles from Milwaukee.

Buc-ee's, known for its massive stores featuring snacks like Beaver Nuggets and the alleged "cleanest restrooms in America", primarily operates stores in the south.

Oak Creek's Mayor calls it the "first-completed Buc-ee's store in Wisconsin along the critical I-94 corridor."

A City Plan Commission meeting is scheduled, followed by public hearings.

If approved, the store’s anticipated opening would be in early 2027.
