(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Someone fired bullets at a truck Monday on the Indiana side of I-80, with one of the rounds entering the cab and piercing an energy drink can in a cup holder, Indiana State Police said.
Troopers were called around 3 p.m. to eastbound I-80 just east of the Illinois/Indiana border, where a truck driver said a motorist in small gray passenger car shot at his vehicle for no apparent reason, police said in a news release.

A trooper found two bullet holes in the truck. One bullet entered the cab near the driver’s legs and struck a cup holder and a can of Mountain Dew Kickstart, said officials, who provided photographs. This bullet was recovered.

The truck driver was not injured. Anyone with any information about the vehicle from which the gunfire came — a gray Nissan with Illinois license plates— is encouraged to call 219-696-6242. Callers can remain anonymous.
