Bus carrying migrants spotted in Will County: Police

MANHATTAN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police in Manhattan, Illinois are monitoring the area after intercepting a busload of migrants Thursday.

Police said they stopped a bus carrying migrants from Texas as the driver was attempting to unload passengers at Manhattan's Metra station.

Officers said the driver told them he was looking for a train to Chicago and, when he found out there were no more trains that night from Manhattan, the bus went to another station in Joliet.

The Village said it will provide more information as it becomes available.

Earlier this week, a charter flight from El Paso, Texas arrived at O'Hare with about 100 asylum-seekers on board.

In addition to Chicago, some suburbs have approved ordinances designed to stop charter buses from dropping off migrants without warning. Tinley Park became the latest community this week.
