The gift from UChicago alums Rika and Joe Mansueto will be used to support the formation of a cohort of faculty who are pioneers in the use of Artificial Intelligence in research in disciplines across the university.
UChicago officials say the 50-million-dollars also will help further the school's AI Initiative, which supports faculty-led AI-driven research projects in fields ranging from oncology to visual arts.
