PORTAGE, IND. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police in Portage, Indiana, say they have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to a fatal workplace shooting that occurred early Wednesday morning.

It happened during a shift change at Camaco, a manufacturing plant, near I-94 and State Road 249.

Police said they responded to the employee parking lot at about 3:30 a.m. A 22-year-old employee had been shot to death.

He’s identified as Lennell Jenkins of Chesterton.

The 20-year-old charged in the shooting was identified as Lupe McGee, of Merriville. Police said they were told by witnesses that there had been a verbal argument between Jenkins and McGee before the shooting.
