A car crash yesterday afternoon has the owner of a west suburban store cleaning up…again.
Michelle Luttrell won’t blame bad luck as she deals with yet another car versus building debacle at her American Science and Surplus store in Geneva.
“The first time it happened, I blamed the car. She had one of these new cars that had the button. She’s hitting the button, she’s hitting reverse, it’s not going in reverse. She’s hitting the gas, and all of a sudden, it went flying forward.”
Which destroyed one of the shop’s windows.
“I just got the insurance money to get that window fixed last week.”
Now, Luttrell has a new window to fix, after she says an elderly driver’s foot got stuck on the gas and slammed into the store’s front window.
Thankfully, workers, customers and the driver himself were all unharmed.
“That’s the only reason we can kind of laugh about it now.”
The store, albeit a little beat up, remains open for business.
