CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police divers were called to Lake Michigan early Saturday morning after a car veered off of DuSable Lake Shore Drive and went into the water.
It happened at about 3 a.m. near DuSable Lake Shore Drive and Chicago Avenue, police said.
Officials said the Chicago Police Marine Unit responded to the scene after a blue sedan reportedly was driven off the drive, over the wall and into the lake.
Divers were able to determine there was nobody in the submerged car.
A witness told police three males were seen running away.
They were gone when police arrived. Area Three detectives are investigating.
