(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A former northwest suburban elementary school nurse who was let go for allegedly giving incorrect medication to students is now facing criminal charges.
Prosecutors say 48-year-old Tory Eitz, who was the nurse at Westgate Elementary School until she was fired earlier this year, altered official school documents to conceal her actions.
Police say they received a report of possible safety concerts at the school in April. An investigation found the nurse was allegedly misappropriating medication prescribed to students.
Students who were affected were identified, and interviews were conducted with staff, parents, and witnesses.
She faces a felony charge of forgery and a misdemeanor charge of endangering the life or health of a child.
