(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Don't want to stay out until the wee hours on New Year's Eve? One Chicago chef is serving up an early option for people who still want to celebrate.
The Albert in Streeterville is offering an "Italian New Year's Eve" dinner from 3:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, with a toast at 5 p.m. when the New Year arrives in Italy.
Executive Chef Steve Chiappetti says a lot of people want to have fun but not stay out until midnight.

"Having a greater time during the day, I think, is better, and it's safer. It's about the hour of celebration, not about the actual hour itself, in my opinion," he tells WBBM Newsradio.
Chiappetti says the unique early option could become a thing each year.
The Albert, which is known for its Italian-style dishes, will also teach guests about Italian traditions to ring in the New Year.
