Chicago animal shelter hoping to adopt out an unlikely pair

Kitten and puppy cuddles
One Tail at a Time

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A local animal shelter is hoping someone will adopt an unlikely pair of best friends.

In a facebook post, One Tail at a Time shared adorable pictures of the bonded pair – a large-breed puppy named Scooter and a one-eyed kitten named Socker Bopper.

According to the post, a staff member started fostering Scooter who is very shy back in May. He was rescued from a hoarding situation in Arkansas.

Socker Bopper came along later. He was found on the side of a road. He was very underweight and had an infected eye. He also has a severe head tilt that causes him to be wobbly when he walks.

When the two met, they quickly became besties – often playing together, sleeping together and even grooming each other.

Staff members say the two are now inseparable and they're hoping someone will adopt them together so the quote "ridiculous amount of cuddling" can continue.

Staff say both animals do well with other pet s and Scooter would really benefit from living with another dog so he can continue to develop his social skills.
