CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Chicago Architecture Center says its revenue is down 70%, and it's looking forward to the day when the tourists come back.
For awhile longer, it's only online programs and virtual tours for the CAC.
CEO Lynn Osmond said revenue is down dramatically, but many supporters are still behind the mission of the organization, which is known for the tours it leads of the city's famous and eclectic architecture.
"So we have really had to pivot. And thank goodness people are still generous with their funds, and so we've been able to secure most of our donations. Not all, because some people are just hurting," Osmond said.
About 75 percent of the membership has stayed with them, she said.
The Architecture Center is marking the 50th anniversary of its popular docent program.
There are 450 docents, and Osmond says they are "chomping at the bit" to go out and start up the tours again.
