(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A Chicago area company is going the music video route to attract viewers during Sunday’s Super Bowl.
This will be the 12th year that Bolingbrook-based WeatherTech, which makes vehicle protection products, will be running an ad during the game.
Mike Magnusson is CEO of Pinnacle Advertising, which is handling the commercial that’ll be airing during the second quarter of the game on Sunday.
With the music, “Born To Be Wild,” playing, the spot features four 70-plus-year-old women in a 1963 convertible.
“They’re getting in trouble. They’re doing things they shouldn’t be doing. They’re having a lot of fun,” says Magnusson.
Mike Magnusson hints WeatherTech has forked around $7 million for that 30-second commercial.
“When you look at making an impact with one commercial in 30-seconds, with that type of viewership, you really can do a lot for your brand,” adds Magnusson.
He says an estimated 123 million people will be watching the Super Bow, and that the money spent to run the ad is well worth it.
