(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – An annual celebration of boating is moving from McCormick Place to the suburbs.
The Discover Boating Chicago Boat Show is moving to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. The suburb is closer to many members of the region’s recreational boating community, says Darren Envall, vice president of Midwest boat and sports shows for the National Marine Manufacturers Association.
He noted there a lot of dealers in the Fox Lake and Lake Geneva areas.
“It’ll be much closer to their dealerships, as well as where people are going to be boating,” Envall said.
The next boat show is Jan. 8, 2025.
