(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — As Chicago faces some winter weather, the Chicago Boat Show returns this week, but at a new location.

The boat show has moved from McCormick Place to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

The 93rd year of the show runs from Wednesday through Sunday. It is one of the biggest and longest-running events of its kind.

Organizers say they'll have hundreds of boats for sale, ranging from personal watercraft to luxury cruisers.

Tickets are on sale now and kids under age 12 can get in for free.

Darren Envall, vice president of Midwest Boat Shows, says the new location offers easy access for people coming from the city, suburbs, and beyond.

“Well, kind of things that you talked about is the entertainment district there. There's so many things for people to do,” Envall said on the Noon Business Hour.

“It's a very convenient location, easy parking ramp, access to the convention center, as well as the entertainment district with some wonderful restaurants.”

Envall said the move wasn’t an easy decision to make, but they are excited for the new location.
