CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Starting Friday the city of Chicago is changing the way it informs people about the COVID-19 risks of traveling to other states.
The city says that as of Friday it is adjusting its travel advisory to follow CDC guidelines, listing any travel risk as low, medium or high. Before, the city used a color system based on whether counties had more or less than 15 cases of COVID per day per 100,000 people.
Under the new system most of the country is listed green or low risk. There are portions of Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North and South Dakota, Kansas, Texas, Kentucky, West Virginia, Vermont and New York state that are colored orange, or high risk of COVID.
The closest of those counties are in northwestern Michigan and northern Missouri.
