CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Today could set a record for a high temperature in Chicago.

The drastic warmup that has gone on the last several days will reach its peak, as the high temperature at the official recording station at O’Hare is expected to reach 88 degrees, according to Accu Wx. The record high is 90 degrees, set in 2011.

The summer-like heat and humidity is expected to stick around for the next three days. However, temperatures will be much cooler, hovering in the 70s, at the Chicago lakefront.

It was only one week ago when the official high was 50 degrees, 15 degrees below the normal high.
