CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Commuters in the Loop might need to make some changes in their commuting routine this week.
Now and until Friday, the Dearborn Bridge over the Chicago River will be closed.
The Chicago Department of Transportation said it'll be performing structural repairs and that closing the bridge will allow crews to switch over to the next phase of the long-term construction project.
Other repairs include replacing bridge grating, beam structures, and sidewalks.
Northbound traffic will be detoured via Wacker Drive, State Street, Kinzie Street, back to Dearborn.
Bikers can detour by using the temporary protected bike lane on Wacker.
