CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — After helping so many families cope with the loss of loved ones from COVID-19, a funeral home on Chicago's South Side has become a vaccination site.
Sylvester Dunn of Golden Gate Funeral Home in Auburn Gresham said he wanted to do something to help ease the pandemic, after seeing its deadly consequences.
When a private medical provider asked if the funeral home would consider hosting vaccination clinics, Dunn said he jumped at the chance.
The 100 to 200 doses of Pfizer vaccine the clinic administers each day it is open are important to the Auburn Gresham community, which has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the city.
