CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A popular food festival is making it's return this fall.
Chicago Gourmet offers a little something for everyone--from tacos to burgers and even wine. Sam Toia, president and CEO of the Illinois Restaurant Association, which sponsors the event, talked about it on CBS 2 this morning.
"We're creating a stir this year", he said. "We'll be showcasing all our great chefs and premiere wines."
Tacos and Tequila hosted by Chef Rick Bayless kicks off the 4-day festival on September 22. Most of the events will take place at the Harris Theater Rooftop.
Prost! in the Park--which Toia describes as Gourmet's take on Octoberfest, is new this year.
Old favorites are also in the mix such as the Hamburger Hop, which pits 12 chefs against each other for the best burger bragging rights.
"If you are into the foodie scene, this is the place to be," said Toia
Chicago Gourmet runs from September 22-25. Tickets went on sale today and can be purchased at chicagogourmet.org.
