CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Dozens of Chicago area arts and philanthropic groups are collaborating on Imagine Just, a project aimed at producing anti-racist art.

The project is an effort by the Arts Alliance Enrich Chicago and its co-director Marcus Robinson told WBBM Newsradio one goal is to collaborate on art that envisions a world without racism.

“When stories get told about a future that is compelling in ways that enrich our humanity, those stories reaches to the deepest most part of us and become a part of our natural yearning for for growth, development and, you know, safety and belonging,” Robinson said.

Robinson, who leads the Collaboraction Theatre Company, said another goal is more diversity and equity in funding within the arts community.

“We have over 50 arts and cultural organizations who have committed to the project of institutional change and really sector-wide movement towards racial equity and equity in general,” Robinson said.
