CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A Chicago hospital is getting flooded with angry phone calls demanding it administer an unapproved drug for a COVID patient.
A group of QAnon supporters is protesting against AMITA Resurrection Medical Center, because it’s refusing to give one of its allies Ivermectin.
A Chicago woman, who’s currently admitted to the Northwest Side hospital with COVID-19, claimed she was denied what she believes is a life-saving treatment.
The story was first reported by Vice, and a spokeswoman for AMITA Health said they’ve received hundreds of phone calls and emails demanding the hospital give the woman the drug.
Typically used to treat parasites in humans and animals, Ivermectin has not been approved for treating COVID-19.
