(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — To celebrate National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, a sports car company has teamed up with a Chicago ice cream maker to create some very unique treats.

Porsche asked Pretty Cool Ice Cream to create five ice cream bars that match some of the auto maker’s custom paint colors.

“When Porsche reached out to me to make some custom ice cream inspired by the paint colors, I was thrilled,” Dana Salls Cree, owner of Pretty Cool Ice Cream, said in a news release. "Similar to all Porsche sports cars, the ice cream pops are truly a passion project that I couldn’t be more excited to share.”

Cree tells WBBM Newsradio it took about six months to find the right combination of ingredients to mirror the look of the Porsche colors. The flavored confections that resulted are Mint Green, Strawberry Red, Macadamia Metallic, Frozen Berry Metallic and Lime Gold Metallic.

The Porsche ice cream bars will be available for free from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Pretty Cool’s Lincoln Park location, 709 W. Belden Ave.

The custom ice cream pops will also be available at select Porsche events later this year, the car company said.
