CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The city of Chicago is searching for the perfect Christmas tree to stand in Millennium Park during the holidays.
“Perfect” in this case means at least 45 feet tall.
It needs to be less than 50 miles from the Loop, but preferably even closer, according to the city’s guidelines.
The city is looking for a Norway spruce or a fir tree.
Pine trees need not apply. City officials say they just aren’t sturdy enough.
City officials would also like a couple of photos of your tree and a brief description of why your tree should be THE Chicago Christmas tree.
Deadline is Oct. 23.
