CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Chicago man has been charged in the murder of a pregnant woman who was found dead in the Chatham neighborhood in February.
Itzel Camarena was just 24 years old. She was six months pregnant.
Her body was found in an alley off of South Vernon Avenue near 82nd Street in the Chatham neighborhood. Police said she had been shot in her face.
Prosecutors said 26-year-old Dontrell Anderson killed her.
They've charged him with first degree murder and with concealing a homicidal death.
Anderson was arrested in Manitowoc, Wis., last week and was extradited to Chicago.
Prosecutors in court on Saturday claimed surveillance video shows Anderson dragging Camarena's body and putting her in the alley.
