WAUKEGAN (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man who, north suburban prosecutors said, attacked two Metra conductors last month will remain in jail as he awaits his next court hearing.

Prosecutors said on Oct. 27 Jonathan Raygoza, 28, of Chicago, got off a train at Metra’s Spring Station in Waukegan. Police said Raygoza bumped into a conductor on the platform then punched the conductor in the face multiple times and knocked out a tooth.

The Lake and McHenry County Scanner reported, when another conductor tried to intervene, Raygoza also punched that conductor in the face and knocked the conductor to the ground.

Police said an officer was injured as Raygoza was pursued through a parking lot and arrested.

Prosecutors said Raygoza was on parole for another aggravated battery case in Lake County last year, and they convinced a judge to keep Raygoza in jail until a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 28.
