CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Plans have been put on hold by the City to move hundreds of migrants from the North Side to the Southwest Side.
The city had first planned to move hundreds of migrants last week from the West Ridge YMCA on Touhy to Daley College on 76th and Pulaski. Then, that was bumped to Sunday, and, now, the move has been delayed again.
Some migrants have indicated they do not want to be moved. Their children have already enrolled in neighborhood schools on the North Side and have been embraced by their new community. The city wants to make the move so that hundreds of migrants do not have to continue sleeping on the floors of Chicago police stations.
