CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Chicago police officer was shot Friday night when she arrived at the scene where two other people had been shot.

It was just before 11 p.m. on the 7200 block of South Jeffrey in the South Shore neighborhood.

According to police, officers pulled up to a scene where a 25-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy had been shot.

There was more gunfire and a female officer was hit multiple times. The extent of her injuries is unclear but she was able to get to a hospital and her condition was stabilized.

Police said she did not return fire.

The 25-year-old who was shot was hit multiple times and later died. The 15-year-old was hit in the legs and was in fair condition.

Police have nobody in custody and they're encouraging cooperation from anyone who may have any information about the shooting in South Shore.
