CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago police are warning people about armed robberies that have recently occurred after people connected online.
There were three incidents last week involving people who were either interested in buying or selling cars and who connected on Facebook Marketplace.
In one incident, police said a man was shot when he tried to resist.
In another, the suspects had a tow truck and towed a car away that was for sale.They had a gun and didn't pay.
The incidents occurred:
· On Monday, March 21 at 111th and Langley Ave.
· On Thursday, March 24 on the 200 block of West 107th Pl.
· And on Friday, March 25 on the 600 block of West Vermont St.
Police said anyone who makes arrangements to meet for a transaction like these should do so outside a police station.
