CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - The Chicago Republican Party and some local activists say the City should not be spending money it doesn’t have to assist the growing population of migrants.

Steve Boulton, Chairman of the Chicago Republican Party, joined activists from the South and West Sides, protesting the spending of millions on the migrants.

“We don’t have the money for these communities that are in deep, deep crisis. We don’t seem to have the money for more police. We don’t seem to have the money for better schools. Yet, $50 million can suddenly be appropriated in the middle of thin air for this migrant problem,” Boulton said.

Activist Ziff Sistrunk suggests a protest to stop the NASCAR event next month.

“We’re not pleased. We’re not going to take it. We’re mad as hell, and we’re going to do something about it.

Others said they’re not anti-immigrant. They just think the city needs to take care of its own.
