CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A Chicago rideshare driver was rushed to a hospital early Sunday morning after he was shot by one of his passengers on the Southeast Side.
Chicago police said officers responded to reports of a person being shot shortly before 2 a.m. in the 900 block of East 91st Street.
Upon arrival, they found the driver, who was described as a 30-year-old man. He was shot in the back of his neck.
Authorities believe the man was shot by someone who was riding in his vehicle. After he was shot, police said he crashed into a parked vehicle before coming to a stop. No one was inside the parked car.
The man was taken to University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition.
Chicago police said the shooter has not yet been identified. Area Two detectives are investigating the shooting.
