(WBBM NEWSRADIO) —A Lincoln Park High School teacher — the 32-year-old father of a newborn — was killed last week in a crash in the River West neighborhood.
Chicago Police say Alan Nuñez was killed Friday night when another vehicle crossed the center line on West Grand and hit the motorcycle he was riding.
Two days later was to have been the Sunday baptism for his 4-month-old son, Kostaki.
“In July we were supposed to go to Greece, all of us and the family for a ceremony for their wedding,” said Christian McCoy, a friend Nuñez and his wife, Sofia.
“They got married in a courthouse not too long ago, and then they wanted to have a family-and-friends wedding in Greece and have the baby baptized again in Greece.”
McCoy says now they are planning Alan Nuñez’s funeral Friday.
“We will be wearing white to the funeral instead of black, to show the light that he brings to everybody. "
