CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicagoans are getting a chance to "dive back in" to one of the city's most charming commutes.
The Chicago Water Taxi, which has not run regularly since the pandemic started because of fewer commuters, will resume service three days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, starting September 5.
Andrew Sargis is Chief of Operations of the Chicago Water Taxi which is a subfleet of the Wendella Tours.
"What we're seeing now based on Metra's statistics, we're seeing that-Tuesday through Thursday over 50% of officers are occupied," he said. "This is compared to pre-pandemic."
Chicago Water Taxi service on the Chicago River will include rush hour departures between Ogilvie Transportation Center in the West Loop and Michigan Avenue in Streeterville.
